About Us
Troutwood is a financial technology company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded out of Carnegie Mellon University’s Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship, we design and develop financial applications and
educational tools built around a philosophy of Save First Planning.
We strive to remove the fear typically associated with finance by simplifying complicated terms and providing our customers with conflict-free tools to better
their lives.

Prior to starting Troutwood, Gene spent 17-years working with large pension funds and institutional investors. He is an award-winning author (The Missing Semester) who has key-noted investment and education
conferences across the country and spoken in over 500 high school and college classrooms. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Allegheny College, and an MBA with a concentration in finance
from Carnegie Mellon University. Gene is also a board member of CFA Society Pittsburgh, part-time lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh and Executive in Residence at Penn State Behrend. He, his wife, four children and chocolate lab,
live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Jeff Davidek
Chief Strategist
Jeff is responsible for product development and placement, interpretation of market conditions, customer needs and data aggregation. Before Troutwood, Jeff spent his career working with institutional investors
across the nation, including time at a global investment bank and 14 years as partner and senior vice president of a top-ranked asset-management firm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Allegheny College and enjoys teaching
finance in his spare time at Grove City College. Previously, Jeff served on the advisory board of the Pennsylvania Association of Public Employee Retirement Systems and as a member of numerous organizations dedicated to trustee education
and pension reform. Home is in Pittsburgh – just a few blocks from Carnegie Mellon – with his wife, two children, and their mischievous golden retriever, Max.

Dorian is responsible for overseeing the UI/UX experience and prides himself on designing delightful customer experiences and meaningful customer interactions with Troutwood products. Past work includes the
construction of innovative technology and human-centered designs for small and large companies. He has traveled the world and led award-winning programming competitions sponsored by the world's largest technology companies. Dorian
received a full-ride athletic scholarship at Ohio University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering and Philosophy.

Brian Taylor
Chief Information Officer, CFP
Brian is responsible for overseeing the development of proprietary software applications, and is responsible for the firm’s technology systems. As a Wealth Advisor, Brian managed valuable client relationships
(~$150 million), developed financial plans and customized comprehensive financial solutions to meet unique client needs. Over the five years prior to joining The Mather Group, Brian served as an Investment Advisor at Shorebridge Wealth
Management, and Hunter Associates, Inc. Previous experience also includes portfolio management and securities research. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Marketing from Ohio University, an Executive Certificate in
Financial Planning from Duquesne University and a Certified Financial Planner designation.

Simone Quinerly
Chief Financial Officer
Simone is responsible for firm accounting, tax filing, financial forecasting, modeling and market analysis. Prior to Troutwood, Simone founded Quinerly Financial group, a small accounting firm based out of the
Northside of Pittsburgh. She holds a MS degree from Chatham University in Accounting, a Financial Service BS degree from Edinboro University and is currently completing requirements for the CPA designation. When Simone is not in the
office you can find her in the community. She held a Money Matters: Financial Block Party promoting financial literacy to the youth ages 5-18 sponsored by the Buhl Foundation. She is also a board member of the Neighborhood Learning
Alliance and New Voices of Reproductive Justice (treasurer).Simone has been awarded the The Incline’s Who's Who of business and finance (2018), Pittsburgh Courier’s Women of Excellence (2018), and a recipient of the Chuck Copper
Scholarship. Simone, her fiancé and 7-year-old son, reside in Morningside.

Jay Morrison
Market Analyst
Jay is responsible for market research, customer interaction and brand development. Prior to joining Troutwood, he majored in Finance at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in Finance,
where he chaired the student finance association. He has work experience in the banking industry and previously interned for C.S. McKee, an institutional asset manager. Jay was an intern at Troutwood during the company's 2019 launch. He
is now a part of Troutwood's inaugural hiring class as a full-time Market Analyst.

John McDermitt
Data Analyst
John is responsible for compiling, interpreting and developing data into information based tools. Prior to joining Troutwood, John majored in Finance and Economics at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Over the
course of his collegiate career, John worked as Financial Literacy Coordinator, served as Behrend’s captain in the CFA Investment Research Challenge, and volunteered in numerous projects that assisted and raised awareness for veterans,
the homeless, and the environment. John was an intern at Troutwood during the company's 2019 launch. He is now a part of Troutwood's inaugural hiring class as a full-time Data Analyst.
